How is living in Aosta, Italy - Valle d'Aosta
I have visited the valley twice. Stayed in Aosta for a few days and La Thulie for a day. Didn't really explore any of the other town in the area. I know up valley Courmayeur and Morgex are nicer ski resorts.
My wife and I are looking to change up something in our lives. We have dreamed about living in Italy for awhile. She can get citizenship through her Grandma. We've lived in the same small town in Colorado for the last decade+. The town is about 25k and the surrounding area is 55k. We enjoy small mountain town life. We're both mountain bike 2-7x a week. That is what originally brought us to Aosta.
I am looking at Aosta because its similar size to the town we currently live in. Good mountain access. I like the idea that we can get on the Gondola from town and go to Pila and ride easily during the week. I would like to spend next summer in the valley to try it out. Our child will be 1.5 years old by then.
What is it like living in Aosta and the surrounding area? We would like to meet some people closer to our age and similar in life, 30s with kids. Are there many young adults in the area or do they all leave? Are rentals hard to come by?
