After more than a decade of breeding, hundreds of hunts, and thousands of selections, we finally mapped out the Solfire lineage tree.

This isn't just a list of strains. It's the story of how our genetics have evolved over the years and how one generation has influenced the next.

One thing that becomes obvious when you zoom out is that we don't just make random crosses. We build on proven families, preserve traits we love, and keep refining generation after generation. Every release is another branch on a much larger tree.

Whether you've been collecting Solfire packs since the early days or you're just discovering our work, it's pretty cool to trace your favorite cultivar back through its parents and grandparents.

The Pulp #2 (Don Mega × Sin n Juice)

This one came out of the No Mids mixed light greenhouse up here in Washington State and has been a standout banger from the jump.

This nose is exactly what I was hoping for when I made the cross. Sweet citrus up front with that loud loud Don Mega funk sitting right underneath it. Crack a jar and it immediately fills the room.

She's got great resin production, stacked well in the greenhouse, and carries a heavy greasy funky finish with a huge yield. The kind of flower that keeps pulling you back in for another smell and leaves you with goose bumps.

Don Mega continues to prove why it's been such an important piece of our breeding program. This cross brings the best of both parents to the table and this pheno feels like one of those keepers we just can't let go of.

Big shout out to the crew at No Mids for putting in the work and letting these genetics show what they're capable of.

This weekend at the Dude Grows Show Growers Cup in Colorado, Solfire growers took 3 of the Top 5 spots.

🍁 Back From Montreal

I just returned from Montreal, where I had the opportunity to spend time with the team at Cannara Biotech and dive deeper into tissue culture.

One thing I've always believed is that the moment you stop learning is the moment you stop growing. I came home with a notebook full of ideas and a renewed excitement for the future of Solfire genetics.

Rise With The Phoenix

Over the past few months we’ve been working on something behind the scenes, and it’s finally about ready.

We now have a fully functional tissue culture lab. We start initiation this week 🤓

This has been a long time coming. My first real exposure to tissue culture was during my undergrad in Takato Imaizumi’s lab at University of Washington. That experience changed the way I looked at plants in vitro. His work focuses on how plants respond to environmental changes, especially seasonal and daily timekeeping, and being around that kind of thinking stuck with me. Back then it wasn’t widely applied to cannabis, I actually asked if I could bring some plants in the lab and the response from the lead graduate student was "are you insane we would lose our funding!" although I think they were generally curious. Protocols didn’t really exist back then and if they did they were gatekept hard, but I always wanted to bring it into Solfire because I see the value.

The goal here is simple: preserve our genetics properly, keep them clean, and maintain consistency over time.

Tissue culture allows us to:

• Store genetics long term in a stable state
• Clean up and reset plant material
• Protect the library from loss or drift
• Scale select cultivars with more control

It’s a different approach than traditional cloning, and it gives us more precision in how we handle our work here.

Right now we’re focused on dialing in our protocols, refining the workflow, and putting everything through real testing before expanding it further. Same approach we’ve always taken, do it right first.

We’re building this out step by step and sharing what actually works. If you’ve been down this road, I’m open to any solid advice.

The long term goal is to build a substantial library of genetics not just our own work, but cuts we respect and phenos we select, along with some fun house plants that deserve to be preserved the same way.

If you’re already running TC, drop what’s working for you. Media tweaks, contamination control, multiplication tricks, YT videos that helped, anything. If you’re curious about it, ask questions.

We’ll share what works, what doesn’t, and what we learn along the way.

Quick update on the Big Pulp Energy (The Pulp × Black Banana F2) dry weight contest.

Big Pulp Energy came in at 244.6 which is 8.7 oz dry weight !!!

When we posted this, we said “down to the gram” and we stayed true to that.

After going through all the guesses, we ended up with a unique situation:

• One person hit it exactly to the gram based on the rules as written
• Another guess was technically closer to the exact final weight when factoring in decimals

Instead of overcomplicating it or splitting hairs, we’re keeping it simple and doing what feels right.
