Dexedrine instead of Adderall

I picked up my prescription two days ago and noticed the pill looked different but with all the shortages, I figured it was another generic.

2 days I’ve been on Dexedrine instead of Adderall and the side effects are awful and clearly I prefer Adderall. I’m exhausted, my mood is so low and it’s causing depression like feelings.

It’s a new prescriber, so I assume it was a mistake. I did message her advocating I switch back to Adderall asap.

Has anyone else had Dexedrine substituted for Adderall?

Purple 20MG Adderall? IR

I just picked up my prescription and it’s an oblong purple pill. I’ve always have blue or pink, that could be split in half. This one doesn’t even have the line to break it. Anyone know the brand?? I called but the hold was 20 minutes!

Here we go…

Switched from XR to IR due to the pharmacy saying it’ll be months before XR is in stock again. I get this the moment the Dr submit it.. so frustrating!!!

And what is “soon”… I doubt it’s actually soon.

ADHD Med Switch Disaster? Vyvanse Side Effects, No Benefit, and My Doctor Stopped Responding

Hi everyone,
Looking for some advice and wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.
I’ve been working with my doctor to find the right ADHD medication after losing a significant amount of weight. For years I did fairly well on Adderall, but recently we’ve been trying different options because it wasn’t lasting long enough.
A few days ago I switched from Adderall XR to Vyvanse, and honestly it has been awful.
Since starting Vyvanse I’ve experienced:
Extreme fatigue (to the point of almost falling asleep during therapy)
Feeling emotionally flat or “numb”
Worse focus and attention than before
Difficulty completing tasks
Irritability and being unusually snappy
A very intense “one-track mind” where I get stuck on something and can’t shift gears
Feeling zoned out and disconnected
No improvement in ADHD symptoms whatsoever
The strange part is that stimulants normally make me feel more awake and present. With Vyvanse, I feel like the opposite version of myself.
I’ve been updating my doctor through the patient portal. I sent messages explaining the side effects and asking if I should stop taking it or wait until my upcoming appointment. Initially I got responses, but after my latest updates I haven’t heard back and now I’m not sure what to do.
I don’t expect instant responses from providers, but I’m feeling pretty miserable and don’t know if these side effects are something that sometimes improve after a week or if this is a sign that Vyvanse simply isn’t the right medication for me.
Has anyone had Vyvanse make them feel exhausted, emotionally flat, or more irritable instead of helping? Did it improve with time, or did you end up switching back to something else?
Also, at what point would you follow up again with your doctor if they stopped responding to medication concerns?
