Changed out front stage speakers- now calibration levels for surrounds have changed dramatically-why??
Changed my Jamo s8 series L/C/R for the Fluance Signature series (so far WOW) to better match my Fluance surrounds (lower tier models)….my previous calibration levels for side and back were somewhere between -7 db and -4 db and now they are all close to -3 db…now I’m stumped! My Avr is the Sony Dh790 7.2 and I def have room treatment and the mic level and centered sale place as always
In my head I thinking two things-
I separated all my cables into thier own groups so the power cables aren’t crossing my speaker wires, hdmi, sub cables, etc so maybe things are much cleaner without some type of interference?
The Jamo real world testing showed them perform around 81 db sensitivity vs thier acclaimed 87, and the Fluance are rated at 85 for L/R and a whopping 92 sensitivity for center….could the much improved efficiency on my front stage have altered the handling of my side and rear surrounds? The calibration numbers barely changed for the fronts between old and new Fluance ones. Overall, first time ever, everything is nearly within the +-3db goal
