I recently received a provisional offer from HMRC and accepted the offer. I filled in the PEC requirements on Monday and my status changed to ‘PEC in progress’.
This morning, I checked again and found that it has now changed to ‘successful at interview’.
Does this mean my offer has been rescinded, please? If not, what could it mean?
I registered with manual driving instructor in Bradford, in January this year. He charged £350 for 10 hours at 1 hour per practice which I paid on the 16th of January and we had the first lesson on the 20th of January.
I had a lot going on in my life and his teaching methods were quite rough and unproductive so I cancelled the 4th lesson at short notice. I am willing to pay for that because of the short notice.
I reached out on the 9th of April to resume lessons and he:
A. Claimed that extra lessons were had because the cancelled class was for 2 hours. He claimed an extra hour for some other class that was neither scheduled nor held.
B. He thought I was no longer interested and has moved on with other clients.
He agreed to refund 4 hours, asked for my account details which I sent and then went mute.
His tone of voice and deceit were off putting and I demanded a refund of the remaining 6 hours.
I sent him a letter of notice of cancellation and demand for refund letter on the 28th of April and he’s not been responding since then. I also reported him to the DVSA but I need to recover my money.
What course of actions are available to me, please?
