About a year ago, I joined a certain discord server that I'm no longer associated with. That set a lot of things in motion for me. A lot of bad memories have come from the past year. However, they are heavily out weighed by the amount of truly wonderful memories and friends I've made.

A community that is so wonderful and welcoming. A development team that is fully behind me, in making a demo for my upcoming visual novel. I'm truly blessed, and would not change a single thing that happened to me this last year.

One thing is consistent, despite all that happens, that reflection we see, is still you.

A threat is approaching. The forest cries out as it burns. The very air reeks of the looming threat. Sombra knows what needs to be done.

She could hear the cries of agony and anguish. The calls of those suffering, burning from a righteous flame, that now burned too strong. She was familiar with death; it was a cycle she would help complete for many.

A dragon of the end… she knew what had to be done. But… her heart cried, why him, how could he fall! The only dragon who could be with her. The only dragon whose light was strong enough to with stand her. The only dragon…who loved her… Now, he was suffering, because of her. A holy flame that burns too bright, because of her. A heart shattered, because of her. A heart, that needed to suffer no longer. Taking to air, she flew to him, one last time.

Finding him was easy, the closer she flew, the louder his heart rang out, a cry, yearning its shattered pain to end. When Noelle landed, and saw him, her lilies began to grow. Sombra looked up… the flame that once burned, now but embers.

“Noelle…” a ragged charred voice emanated from Sombra’s mouth.

“Sombra… I’m here… it’s time…” The dragon of the end said. Tears streaming down her face. Her white patterns beginning to glow, as Sombra painfully…slowly crawled to her. As he did, a rain began to fall, steam emanating from the dying, remaining embers. Slowly… painfully, Sombra lifted his head, tears forming, but immediately evaporating from his ember flames. Reaching for him, Noelle cradled his head. Sombra gazing at her,

“Is it… over…?” He slowly breathed. Placing her chin on his head, tears streaming down her eyes,

“Yes… rest… She said as she placed a kiss on the tattered fur of his snout. Her magic took, but a few moments to take it effect. As Sombra drew his last breath,

“Thank… you…” the once hero of light whispered, as his head slowly went limp. Noelle, cradling him, held him tightly once last time. The rain continued to fall, extinguishing the final embers that burned on the dragon of light.

There’s a strange light and pull towards the water. The glow and reflection of the moon is very calming. A nice spot for a dragon to just sit, relax, and reflect upon.
