Finished volume 4 and it was incredible. my favorite part of this volume is it’s message about tools and how we use them.

Hakuri used Ice Lady (I don’t know her name) as a tool to validate his existence to both himself and his family. Ice Lady use Hakuri as a tool to achieve her eventual suicide.

Soya uses Hakuri as a tool of sadistic pleasure due to is lack of power, which make it so much more impactful when he tells Hakuri to “go die” because it showed that his “love” was only derived from the superiority that Hakuri’s existence granted him, and the second Hakuri stood against him as an equal it all went out the window.

Kyora uses his children as tools to protect a broken door in hopes of delaying Chihiro and the gang, and even his greatest tool (Tenri) used a tool of its (his) own, (the spirit enhancing drug) at the cost of his own life.

There is a lot more to this volume but this theme in particular is what stuck out to me, can’t wait to keep reading.

NO amount of information could’ve prepared me for what is probably the sorriest play through I’ve ever witnessed. I know that this play through was like a 8 years ago, but I’m willing to bet money that a person could play this game today with absolutely NO knowledge on it and could do 50x better than Berlin. How do you not learn ANY information about Hank’s son until he’s already dying? How do you get EVERYBODY killed and become what’s basically a sleeper agent?

It got to a point where I just stopped feeling sad and genuinely found it comedic on how someone could be this booty at a game.
