M1 Ultra Pen Drawing: Modifying Other Pens

I wanted to see if I could extend the color range for pen drawing so I picked up a set of 30 Cricut pens with 0.4mm pen tips from a local craft store. Although they fit in the pen holder unfortunately they were too long so the M1 Ultra lid wouldn't close all the way and when I tried to use one I got an error message saying it won't work unless the lid is closed. So I decided to modify them by cutting about 6mm off the end of each one (which didn't take long once I figure out a good cutting method). Voilà now they work and I have lots of additional colors to choose from.

Laser Cutting Little Chairs with the M1 Ultra

This is a chair that will go into another assemblage pieces. Still lots to do with it. I used to build little chairs like this with as many as 24-27 single sticks of wood like the one in the second image. With my 20W laser module I have it down to 4-6 pieces of 3mm or 6mm basswood plywood or 6mm MDF. Much faster and easier to put together. And a lot easier on my old hands without having to hand cut with a saw and miter box.

VKIZA basswood sheets?

I came across a listing on Amazon for VKIZA Basswood Sheets 54 pack. Has anyone tried these and have any thoughts on whether they are good enough? They are 12x12x1/8 inch sheets.
