If any of you are familiar with the coral farm in mass, they sell these things called crud cups. Basically some rock, pieces of whatever mixed in, and they sell them.

I bought two. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but im actually impressed. This is a few days after dumping the crud cups into a mushroom box and running it in my sump. Photo has been color corrected because of the blue light in the sump but it’s almost spot on.

Now what the heck do I do with this stuff? Can I glue these things onto frag plugs or just let them attach to rock and then just move them into the tank? Thanks in advance.

I’m being told that it’s a Red Sea Reefer 700 but that’s not correct. Looks like it is eurobraced and I’ve never seen a metal stand like that. Appreciate the help.

So I’m cycling a 20 gallon salt tank. It’s only been a few weeks. Added Fritz in the beginning and last week added some ammonium chloride. Went to check the water using an api salt kit and am getting this result.

When adding bottle number 2, the water immediate clumps up. If I leave it, it settles straight to the bottom. I checked the expiration date and it’s good.

I tested using ro water and tank water and the ro water tested fine. Not sure what the issue is. Thought?

Found a local seller that was moving out of state and was very motivated to get rid of this. About 5-5 gallon buckets and a 27 gallon tote. I didn’t weight it but it was all pretty heavy. It was dry rock removed from tanks a while ago.

Ok. Back again. This is a second hand waterbox 60.2. I tried to get it all assembled today but ran into an issue.

I’m missing the piece coming off of the gate valve. Is this an available piece from waterbox? Also missing the pieces for the sock filters…. Do I have to use those?

What would you suggest as far as filter media?

Do I absolutely need a skimmer to get the tank cycled? From what I’ve read, no but want to make sure.

New here. First post actually and I’m not sure which direction to head in with these recently acquired tanks.

Was told by the seller that these were old livestock tanks from his uncles fish store. These are predrilled for what was the stores salt water system. Glass is about 3/8” think and these weigh a ton. Euro braced and seem to be built very well. Dimensions are 48” x 18” x 16”. 60 gallons each.

I have ideas but would love to hear from other more experienced than I as to what they would do with the.
