I’ve signed a conditional offer for a Risk role at KPMG Canada and have a start date, but my background check is still pending, including the credit check.

I have some old credit card collections from when I was a student. I’m currently on payment plans and actively paying them down.

For anyone with experience at KPMG Canada, especially in Risk/Advisory:

Would you wait until the background check is fully cleared before giving notice at your current job? Is it normal for KPMG to give a start date before the screening is complete?
