Right now I’m on a trip out to Nevada for the long weekend. My first stop was the ruins of Rhyolite which I’m assuming we all know about because of the First National Bank (Charter# 8686) and the unique Series of 1902 $10 Date Back that surfaced back in 2015.
Unfortunately I don’t have the money to contest such a note, but visiting the ruins has given me an appreciation for it that escapes easy description.
For now a handful of photos will suffice along with the memories. To that end, I present to you for your viewing pleasure, photos from the ruins including the ruins of the Overbury Building which housed the FNB and surrounding structures such as the Cook Bank.
More photos to come tomorrow including photos from Tonopah.
One of four notes recorded on the First National Bank of Wailuku (Charter# 5994) by the National Bank Note Census. If you’d like to know more, I would highly recommend reading Huntoon’s article regarding the Cooke-operated banks on Maui organized during the early 1900s.

Look, I understand how easy it is to loathe certain subreddits, but these posts are getting to be a distraction from the purpose of r/papermoney overall. The last thing we want is for the Reddit admins is to shut down this subreddit because we ran afoul of their unequally applied rules and regulations.
Any post no matter how justified in reference to those subreddits will be removed from the r/papermoney feed. We apologize deeply for doing this, but it is for the best interest of the subreddit as apparently the truth hurts especially in subreddits run by a mod team consisting of a certain "festive fish and his relations."
