Ommegang Seduction Ale (2011)

I was able to pick up half a dozen or so of these recently really cheap . It’s well past its prime and more like a cheap Yuengling porter- but I like cheap porters. I feel like I can almost taste the cherries— with an indistinct sweetness. It says best by 2013 which was correct. They had been sitting in a dusty case in a liquor store for the past 15 years so it’s my duty to halfway enjoy them.

Collaboration Not Litigation Ale- Avery & Russian River (2016)

This one is still very nice, 10 years in. I’ve not had a fresh one but this has a sweet funky smell to pair with its hops and light honey, but not overly sweet finish. A very nice Belgian style ale.

Widmer Brothers Barrel Aged Ale Brrrbon (2013)

Strong taste of bourbon and kinda dry, but still a nice mellow flavor. I think I have one more of these and I’m looking forward to it.

I happened across A Pod of (Sierra Nevada) Narwhals (2015)

Strong and also kind of mellow. Some black licorice, some subtle coconut and kind of warm going down. Very nice.

Prairie Artisan Ales Prairie-Vous Francais Farmhouse Ale

This one might be from 2014-2015. It’s light refreshing and slightly funky. Not very hoppy but just a touch tart. A little Like a lighter Orval.

Goose Island Sofie Farmhouse Ale (30Jan2014)

At 6.5% I had expected this one to turn. I’ve had a few Belgians from goose island from around this era that tasted more like sours. Pleasantly surprised by the mellow orange peel flavor and a farmhouse style ale with only a touch of funkiness. There’s a bit of a mead character running under the whole thing, with a hint of honey that isn’t overly sweet. I would imagine it would have been better years ago but very drinkable, and enjoyable.

Some slightly aged La Chouffe Belgian Golden ale (2017)

This one has a stronger pilsner taste and plenty of carbonation still. Slightly funky and still delicious.

The Bruery Poterie bourbon barrel aged Ale 16.8% 2016

It’s smells of molasses and is still lightly carbonated. Very sweet and warm going down. Definitely one to share. I also have one more around here somewhere.

Dechutes Mirror Mirror 2014 Motherload barleywine ale

Found a store getting rid of these today. It’s still strong, slightly sweet, smooth, and well carbonated. The one i opened has more of a bourbon flavor than a wine.

Great Divide Yeti barrel aged imperial stout 2015

Like a black tar. Sweet thick, and warm going down. Pretty nice

Famille Rue The Bruery, The Grade Baltic Lager/porter 2016

Smells like maple and tastes like it right at the front. After the sweet malts hit it kinda loses its flavor. May have been better years ago. Not bad at all, but not very rich.

Founders Lizard of Koz Imperial stout

Strong and sweet, but I don’t know if I love the blueberry in a stout. It’s a clash of smell and taste

Rough Draft Brewing Emboozlement Tripel

First time with this. Flowery nose but a strong bourbon taste at the finish. I’m used to darker maltier bourbon aged beers, but this is pretty good. Almost a light refreshing bourbon ale instead of a warm one. I guess this brewery is no more, so I have no idea how old this is.

Allagash Interlude 2015

Better than I expected, a little funky, mellow, dry, with a hint of red wine. It’s a 10% but sips like an 8.

Goose Island Pepe Nero 2011- Still Delicious

I happened upon a couple of these and they’re still very consistent. Plenty of carbonation and still very malty.
