Supporting Athletic as a non-Basque fan

Hi everyone! I’m a French guy, (from Bordeaux to be more specific) and I gradually fell in love with Athletic Club after learning more about the club, and then visiting San Mamés and discovering its history.

I really love the club’s philosophy, both socially and in terms of what it stands for. It feels like a breath of fresh air compared to the hyper-capitalism of modern football, with Athletic trying to preserve such a strong local identity that both the supporters and the players can genuinely relate to. Politically, I also feel very close to the values of the club and its supporters. For example, I really admire the solidarity shown by the club towards Palestinians. And as a Girondins de Bordeaux supporter myself, I know there are also friendly ties between the two clubs and fanbases.

I work in southwestern France and regularly visit the Basque Country, both on the French and Spanish sides, and I’m hoping to settle there permanently within the next few years.

So yeah, there are plenty of reasons why I feel drawn to supporting this club!

None of this will change my mind — I’m actually starting on September 5th by going to Athletic–Atlético Madrid 😄 — but I was curious to hear your thoughts on what it’s like to support such a unique club when you’re not Basque yourself.

Eventually, I’d really like to join a peña as well, so I’d love to know what the general attitude is towards non-Basque supporters who genuinely identify with the club and its values.

Literature on Babylon Group II tetradrachms

Hi everyone, question for the few specialists here: are you aware of any interesting literature dealing with Group II Babylon tetradrachms of Alexander the Great (Price 3598–3687)?
I’m planning to purchase one soon, but I’d like to gather some reliable information beforehand. Unfortunately, the only substantial study I’ve found so far is Lloyd W. H. Taylor’s 2018 article, which mainly focuses on Group I.
I still have several questions, especially since I keep finding different datings and competing theories regarding this group.

If anyone has bibliography recommendations or personal insights on the subject, I’d be very grateful!

Is it the same coin ?

Hi everyone. Quick question, because I can’t quite make up my mind about this… do you think these are the same tetradrachm?

The first one is mine (Alexander tetradrachm, Susa Mint, Price 3855 probably struck by Seleucos), bought last year from a private seller when I was just starting out in numismatics.

The second one I found on ACSearch (CNG Electronic Auction 474, lot 48, 12.08.2020).

Description of the coin by CNG : "Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; in left field, wreath; below throne, PO above strut, ΠP monogram below. Price 3855. Underlying luster, some porosity, a little off center on obverse. Good VF. High relief."

I really can’t decide. I genuinely feel like they are the same coin — the scratches on the obverse seem identical, and the legends on the reverse as well. There are only a few small details making me hesitate, such as the slight wear under Heracles’ nose, or the visible part of the flan behind the lion skin.

What do you think?
UPDATE: Thanks everyone for your help. I carefully examined my coin to compare it, and it turns out they are indeed the same piece!
