Our contractor widened the door to the bathroom from 28" to 30". It is a non load bearing wall. I expected a new header spanning the opening. He didn't do that. On a scale of 1 to 10, how acceptable is this? We are months behind... the building code seems to indicate a 2x4 is required. What's the worst that could happen? Thanks in advance!
My family and I went to Crystal Cove Cottages today to enjoy a picnic lunch. The picnic tables are gone! This was a favorite destination for me with out of town guests for a nice picnic at the beach. The tables were removed and now replaced with restaurant seating...the only option was to pay for 4 entrees at the Beachcomber...very pricy! Does anyone know when this happened? It was suggested to contact the Conservancy and discuss this with the manager. If anyone has her contact info I'd appreciate it. Feel free to contact her too. It upsets me that our public space is no longer available to us. The picnic space should be available to all, not exclusive use. It seems ironic that the park managers would forget the story of the fight for making this space open to all.
