New to me
I joined this sub recently and have been eyeing all the guns you all have. I found a sterling 302 for sale and picked it up. All steel. .22lr. it's so easy to carry and a lot of fun to shoot on the cheap. Love it!

I was thinking the other day about a couple years ago when we had a storm and a large maple tree limb partially broke. The thing was huge and my son and I could not twist it off the rest of the way to bring it down. I was thinking about hiring an arborist and how expensive that would be. Then I remembered my old single shot twelve gauge shotgun and got to thinking, "yeah that would probably cut a tree limb eventually without me having to climb up there with a chainsaw or hire someone.
We don't have neighbors and live in the country, so I grabbed the shotgun and started blasting. Took me about 11 to 12 shots but after that it had broken up enough that it came right off.
Lots of people hunt, target shoot, carry for self defense, but I was wondering;
What problem have you solved with a firearm in a nonviolent type of situation? Anybody else?
Had a well known local place come out and they took coolant out of my central unit. Now it's worse than ever. Called them back out and they said it's working fine. I think it got up to 90 today and the house was at 78. Seriously, who does everyone use here that they trust?
