3 weeks post Op

Hi all!

I fractured my ankle and had surgery on 8/7. I go in for my first post op appt on Wednesday and I’m really nervous.
They said they’ll take off the stitches and put me in a new boot.

A few questions:
How bad does it hurt when they remove the stitches?
They told me once I’m 4 weeks post op I can start 25% weight bearing and so on so forth until I’m at 100%.

How was your experience with that?

I’m just so scared of snapping my ankle again just by the pressure. I know it’s ridiculous but a genuine fear.

Any peace of mind would be most appreciated. 💖

4 days post op

Hiii!! I fractured my ankle 3 weeks ago on a hike and had my ORIF right bimalleolar ankle fracture, stress and potential fixation of syndesmosis surgery on Friday 8/7. Doctor said he’s not worried about issues with me walking with my type of break etc.

I’m just in a really bad place mentally. My family and I moved to WA state not even a month before this happened and I feel so dumb that I got hurt keeping us from exploring this state.

I’m trying my best to be positive but it’s so hard especially because I can’t do anything on my own.

The amount of time of recovery seems so far away and if someone can share som reassurance please.
