This time around, I drew 10 swords, instead of just the usual 6, due to the sheer quantity of katana out there in anime. For this post, I will be restricting 10 different swords with no magical/cursed/flaming powers (Those swords deserve their own list). Nevertheless, these swords are wielded by extraordinary swordsmen and women in anime with their own quirks and fighting styles.

By certain request from people looking for that one different Berber sword, here it is. The Takoba, a staple of the Tuareg and other tribes in North Africa and the Sahel Region. Most Takoba look similar, so I just decided to pick 3 main blade shapes with a mix of hilt materials used.

Most of these talk like people, while others are more or less creatures bound to a sword. I'm pretty sure there are other talking/sentient swords out there that I haven not mentioned, so I would like to know which talking sword you liked in anime or in other media. More importantly, given your knowledge, which ones would you take to an adventure as your companion?

Here's this week's underrated African Swords, featuring straight and curved swords used by the Amazigh/Berber people in Libya and Tunisia. Most of the modern day pieces of these swords would have European blades mounted on native Berber style hilts. Would wonder if anyone here knows of this swords existence and which style of sword would you want to have.

Here's a solo entry for the week, focusing on the Central African Trumbash knife. The one on the left is usually what comes to mind when it comes to this unique African knife, but it happens to have some other derivative shapes both square tipped and offset from the grip.

For this week's line of African swords, we continue with a couple of larger ceremonial swords. Firstly, we have the Empute, a ceremonial double edged swords used by a handful of Congolese tribes. Next is the Nande sword, an obscure single edged sword used by the Nande people also used in Congo.

There's still plenty of Congolese swords to cover, but I'd also want to feature other swords in the Sahara region, so look forward to future African swords featured next week.

Here's like 6 anime swords (double edged) I've sketched from different anime series. Some are close to realistic while others have fantastical elements. Either way, let me know which anime sword design you like and which anime swordsman do you like here?

We're coming back to Africa to cover many of the lesser known African Swords. I'll start here with the Basakpwa, a Congolese sword that has no business of having this many variants upon researching. In addition to the rarer swords that will be featured, I'll also indicate the specific ethnic groups associated with the sword (even more so when a sword's name is primarily associated by the tribe/group it belongs in).

On this week's post for sword colored chart, here I bring you some of the miscellaneous swords also used across India (and in Sri Lanka perhaps).
