What should I do?

Hello, I’m currently a sophomore at a good college, but I wasn’t able to land an internship for this summer. I want to make sure I’m in a better position to get one next summer. Every time I apply for jobs, I get rejected. I’ve applied to so many positions and have only gotten one interview, and that opportunity came through my school. Whenever I apply through Workday or other online applications, I never get an interview, so I feel like my resume might be the problem, but I honestly don’t know what to fix.

Honestly, it feels like my resume is not even getting looked at by real people sometimes, and I almost feel blacklisted from these applications because I rarely hear anything back.

I’m interested in finance roles like corporate finance or even banking, even though I know a lot of the 2027 internships have already opened or passed. What I really want to know is: what should I do now? What can I do this summer to become more competitive by the fall? Should I do certifications? How can I improve my resume and actually start getting interviews? I’d really appreciate any advice or guidance.
