Just accepted an offer on my house which I'm selling due to a breakup. It was under offer previously but the sale collapsed because I was unable to find a suitable onward purchase. I've decided that I will rent for a bit while continuing to look to buy, to get the sale over the line this time, but I'm really shocked by the state of rental stock I'm seeing online.

Everything is super expensive and still pretty horrible, even if I look at the top end of my budget. I work from home and have an indoor cat, so want somewhere suitable to accomodate my lifestyle, just everywhere looks really quite nasty.

I even expanded my search area to 20 miles from where I currently live, but it's all much the same. Is this just the general state of the rental market now?

Looking for some help with my swollen/lumpy upper eyelid. I had a small chalazion starting in June 2025, which I had a steroid injection for in August and then incision and curettage in September. Since then, it has gotten worse and more swollen. The eyelid is constantly inflamed, lumpy, and irritating.

I feel it is now deformed and nothing I've tried, including multiple courses of steroid drops, lid hygiene, lubricating drops and ointments, and 3 months of doxycycline, has made any improvement. My condition continues to worsen. The doctors I've seen have just advised more warm compresses and to give it more time, even though it has almost been a year since this began.

I've seen many oculoplastic surgeons, ophthalmologists, and a dermatologist, and nothing anybody has given me has worked. Nobody's given me a real plan to get this sorted, and I'm absolutely lost and devastated that this is still the condition of my eyelid.

I have been told I have blocked meibomian glands (MGD) and severe aqueous deficiency (Schirmer test 2mm).

I don't know how to cope with this anymore, as it has massively impacted every aspect of my life. My vision has deteriorated in the affected eye, and I experience irritation every minute of the day, making it more difficult for me to work. I am uncomfortable socialising due to how it looks and feels, and my self-confidence is at an all-time low.

Just looking for some help or hope. If anyone has any idea of what to do, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you.
