I see this across most home improvement websites

I have spent some time learning website optimization and sharing my notes with home improvement businesses to help them avoid make same mistakes that stop them from getting more quality leads.

here’s everything I learned and what most remodelling, renovation, and home improvement companies do wrong, plus how to fix it.

You can take practical ideas from this and apply them to your own website.

So let’s talk about website structure and what homeowners actually want to see.

Quick fact: More than 60% of people will never scroll down far enough.

What does that mean?

You need to fully use the first screen people see when your website loads.

That is the one part almost everyone will see.. unless your website is super slow and they leave, which is a different problem.

Now imagine your potential customer lands on your website.

What do they see first?

Most contractor websites say things like: “Quality craftsmanship”, “Trusted local contractor”, “Serving the area since 2004”

But homeowners are thinking: Can I trust these people? or will this project become stressful or how much will this cost?

Your first screen should answer those questions fast.

Here’s a simple structure that works better.

  1. Headline: Show the dream outcome + real benefit + timeline.
eg. “Transform your outdated kitchen into a space your family loves in as little as 6 weeks

  2. Sub-headline: Talk about the pain and your solution.
eg. “No confusing contractors, missed timelines, or messy projects.”

  3. Value Props: What value they get and not features.
eg. Dedicated project manager, Licensed & insured, Warranty include

  4. CTA Button: Make the button clear and easy to understand.
    eg. “Get My Free Estimate”

  5. Bonus: You can make more people click by adding proof and lowering fear.
    - Proof: Reviews (near offer, i.e. headline) should link to the actual review portal
    - Risk Reversal: Help remove fear and doubt (near CTA) guarantees, delivery, etc.

These changes can seriously improve lead quality.

Rest, you can keep A/B testing Headline, Value props to see what resonates with your buyers and gets you the most leads.

Has anyone here already tested changes like this on their website?

Would love to hear what worked (or didn’t).

Anyone running CRO services in the B2B space?

Hey redditors, curious if anyone is running CRO services in the B2B wholesale / service space.

How did you get your first few clients?

What was the average conversion impact you got, and in what timeframe?

Did they retain for ongoing CRO optimization? If not, what upsells did you provide?

I am starting a revenue optimization service where we help them optimize all the key customer journeys to maximize revenue.

Starting with the conversion engine i.e CRO as an entry point to show results, and then introducing other engines.
