Market Efficiency Question L1

Practice quiz question paraphrase: "if market prices reflect all public information, at a minimum, the market is:"

a) Weak-form efficient

b) Semi-strong form efficient

c) Strong-form efficient

The question says "at a minimum", yet the correct answer is semi-strong form efficient. Since semi-strong efficient encompasses weak-form, why is the answer not weak-form, since at a minimum the market must be weak-form efficient to be semi-strong form efficient? We are taught to answer the question according to the phrasing provided, yet this question seems to use "at a minimum" incorrectly.

Can someone provide their input? 80% of the people who answered got it correct, so I feel like I'm David fighting Goliath here. Thank you.

Study Question

Good morning. I’m about halfway through the level 1 material and am thinking about how I want to shift to the review and consolidation phase within the next month or two. I was thinking of doing every single review question in the Q-bank on MM and CFAI before starting mocks. Any tips or thoughts on that strategy? I find practice questions to help me the most, but that may be too brute force. Thanks for your responses.

Questions on Starting L1

Good evening, everyone.

I am planning to begin studying for CFA Level I and had a few questions. I would appreciate any insight from those who have gone through the process.

  1. From what I understand, access to the official CFAI curriculum requires registering for an exam window first. Mark Meldrum’s full packages also appear to be tied to a specific exam window. Preferably I'd like to have access to materials, study on my own time, and then decide when to take the test, but it seems I need to make that decision first. Am I interpreting that correctly?
  2. If I do need to commit to an exam window before getting full access to the official materials, I am considering the November 11-17 window. Does that sound like a reasonable timeframe, or would that be too much of a crunch? From what I have seen, roughly five months seems doable, but I would appreciate feedback from people who have taken it.
  3. I am also getting the impression from this subreddit that many candidates use Mark Meldrum as their primary study resource. Is predominantly MM plus CFAI practice questions/mocks in the last month or two a viable strategy, or is there material in the CFAI curriculum that cannot be fully supplemented with MM?

Lots of questions there, so I would appreciate any assistance. Thank you, and have a great Memorial Day weekend.
