Things I’d like to see added to DayZ
I’ve done a post like this before on a different account, but I added some stuff to this list. I’m aware modded servers have some of these, but these are things I’d like to see in vanilla. Some are silly, some you won’t agree with, some are basic as hell, but lmk what you think. Not sure how hard some would be to implement, but I’m putting them out there.
-more unique sounds and animations (unique food eating sounds, knife sharpening sound and animation, potato peeling sound, etc.)
-garden produce grows much slower
-Picking up a live chicken and being able to hold it until wringing its neck or dropping it in an enclosed area to keep (building chicken coop at base? Eggs anyone?)
-Adding more layers of clothes (hoodie over t-shirt, socks)
-Hunter zombies sometimes (but rarely) have rifles slung on shoulder
-Short sticks and long sticks can be found on the ground w/o cutting down bushes, but only dry ones can be used for fires (dry pine cones used for tinder?)
-Having to pee and poop
-Discarded cans and wrappers once finished are littered and linger around for 5 to 10 minutes unless you take your trash with you (like paper left after opening nails or ammo)
-Crafting a firewood stack and shoe rack for shoe rotation
-Snowdrifts against houses on Sakhal (blocking windows and doors)
-Stealth bases in the woods gradually have the grasses permanently flatten and the ground resembles barren compacted dirt the longer you inhabit the space
-More fire assets (if you’re burning one log, it should visually show only one log burning)
-When zombies spawn it should always be out of the players line of sight to have less “pop in”
-Being able to use short sticks and long sticks combined with barbed wire to create obstacles without needing to attach them to a built wall
-Including salt to salt meats to preserve them indefinitely
-Skiing, sledding?
-Water in streams rising and turning a brownish color to simulate runoff during heavy rainstorms
-High winds impacting movement speed. Running against the wind slows you down while running with it gives you a slight boost (also running uphill vs downhill respectively slows and speeds you up?)
-Beards and hair grow indefinitely
-Being able to place a jerrycan on the ground like you can a wooden crate or battery charger
-Shopping carts for mobile storage (move slower when pushing but faster than if you were carrying a wooden crate or barrel)
-Stacking paper
