I wanted to share this because I’m honestly still a little annoyed about it. My buddy and I decided to fly out to Portugal this summer for a surf trip. Since I’m the "planner" of the group, I booked my ticket nearly three months early to make sure I got a good seat and locked in what I thought was a solid price of $950.

My friend, who is the king of procrastination, didn't get around to booking his until last week. I checked the price with him just to see how much more he’d have to pay for waiting so long, and I was floored the exact same flight was now $600.

I immediately called the airline to see if I could get a refund for the difference or at least some credit. I spent over two hours being transferred between departments, they couldn't do anything about the price change. It feels like I’m being penalized for being responsible and booking ahead. Has anyone found a tool or an AI that actually watches for these drops and handles the refund for you? I’m tired of feeling like I’m getting scammed by these airlines just because their algorithms decided to drop the price after I paid.
