For anyone here who got a barrister for a hearing, was the cost worth it?

So far I’ve been saving funds by being a LIP but I heard that the final hearing is a completely different battleground. Unfortunately my house insurance doesn’t cover legal so any representation will be my own funds. Did anyone here get a barrister for their hearing and did you think the cost was worthwhile? Would you have got a similar outcome without the barrister?

Understanding “because of” test for victimisation claim

Would anyone here be able to shed light on what “because of” a protected act means for a victimisation claim?

Scenario 1: If you complain to Person B that Person A is discriminating against you, but Person B refuses to properly investigate because Person A is their mate

Scenario 2: if you complain about discrimination but Person B says they’re really busy and refuses to investigate because your protected act will overload them with more work.

Can either of these scenarios be victimisation?

Writing witness statement for victimisation claim

Please can someone advise about how to write a witness statement for a victimisation claim? Can I say “I suspected the motive was because of Protected Act”?

My claim is mainly about the actions of a specific individual. The Respondent has disclosed documents which redacts names of other staff members not involved in the claim and who didn’t do anything wrong. Apart from now the documents read quite funny as there are email chains or documents referring to <redacted>, there’s no prejudice to me because I know who the document refers to but in terms of principles of open justice, how much of a big deal is this?
