What the bloody hell happened in the tunnel? We can hear the evacuation siren from the other side of the city.
I'm new on Upwork and have managed to land 2 clients so far.
1 job was completed yesterday but we settled with being paid in milestones as it will be reoccurring work (a few hours a day twice a week sort of gig).
The client was extremely pleased with the work and so was I (I can see the video getting traction on their social media right now!).
I'm wondering if I should ask to end the contract and she sends me an invite again for the next/continuing work so I can get a review on my account. I trust she will understand this and will be ok with doing it, but it's more of me being an announce to her and wasting her time I won't to avoid (I want this client to become a long term, loyal client).
Do reviews really affect my hiring probability?
Should I wait for the next milestone to be completed and then ask to end the contract and get a review?
Sorry if this seems like a dumb or obvious question, I'm new to freelancing and don't want to potentially piss off a good client for my own benefit
I joined the site yesterday, thought I'd give it ago and then get ID verified if it works out in a few weeks.
I've applied for 10 jobs so far and then got a notification saying "you need to verify your identity to resume activity on Upwork"
I'm not too gutted about being paused because I actually started the ID verification 5 minutes before that notification.
What I'm confused about is the fact that I've spent money on the connects which I've used to apply for the jobs that fit my skills and experience for them now to essentially go to waste until I am verified.
Is this a common problem? Or do you think me signing up and then jumping straight into applications is a red flag they want to check out?
Any advice for a newbie on the platform would be really appreciated, would love to hear your tips and any things I should be doing!
