Meriones bonus - gems, enchantments

I couldn't find the answer anywhere. Just a couple of the same questions but unanswered.

Does the 1.5x Meriones multiplier apply only to base armor stats, or does it include bonuses from gems and scrolls before multiplication?

Heatwave... had to remove my mask

For the first time since starting treatment I have been unable to keep my mask on for the entire night. It was just too hot on my face. I don't have direct AC in the bedroom, it's passively cooled by a different unit, but the walls radiate too much heat now for passive cooling to work.

This morning I feel like a truck hit me.

How is everyone else doing?

I washed my F20 foam cushion

I've been using an F20 foam cushion for about four months now. There was nothing wrong with it; I've been wiping it down every once in a while, but I got some cheap replacements so I thought I'd retire the old one because why not.

But first I decided to do an experiment: what happens if I wash the foam cushion, The Cushion That Should Never Be Washed?! So I took a bowl, put Somnosept inside, let the cushion soak, gently massaged it on a few occasions, rinsed it and then microwaved.

Yes, I microwaved my cushion.

100W (minimum), several runs of 4-5 minutes each.

It dried out... Got to about a gram of difference on the kitchen scale compared to a brand new cushion. Never got too hot, the glue still holds, it's a bit stiffer than a new cushion when pinched and slightly slower to get back to its original shape, which I'm not sure if is the result of washing or four months of daily use, but it's clean and it holds a seal like the new one - I tested it.

So since it turned out well, I will be storing this "refurbished" cushion in a dry area away from sunlight for some kind of a future emergency use, if required.

It was an interesting experiment that wasn't technically required since I have more new cushions, but I was bored and curious to see what happens if I do the thing the manufacturer says I should not be doing :)

Changes, 4 months in

Things I have noticed after four months, and I'm improving day by day.

  • No need to sleep at 10 AM (sometimes I want to, but I don't need to)
  • Productivity at work increasing
  • No exploding head syndrome when falling asleep
  • Fewer headaches
  • Can tolerate changes in atmospheric pressure better
  • Appetite went down
  • No desire for sugar
  • But I want to eat a lot of cheese (?)
  • Weight went down
  • Can watch something on TV in the evening without falling asleep on the couch

... I just may become a more normal human being by the end of the year.

Edit: see update at bottom

I got three new AY units installed in my home yesterday and I'm unable to get them online.

They all have the new MAC-597 interface, the one that requires Melcloud Home and uses Bluetooth for pairing.

The problem is that at the pairing stage I just get "Sorry, but an error has occured", and that's it, all three behave the same: error.

I have tried two different phones; even disconnected from my wifi and used 5G in case my home network was causing problems.

I understand why they wanted to get rid of the old WPS/AP method as there were buttons to press on the interface (and you needed a ladder and a toothpick), but it was *reliable* and it worked, despite being very inconvenient.

The new method is convenient as you don't have to climb up anywhere because you get an extra sticker to scan at floor level, but... it doesn't work. And when it doesn't work, what to do?

Does Mitsubishi have server problems again? Does an address not resolve? Do I need a brand new phone with some fancy new Bluetooth stuff (I have a Galaxy S22, Bluetooth version is 5.2)?

------------

Update: Well, it turns out that when adding a new unit, you do not choose "built in wifi interface" even though you can't see the interface inside the unit. You need to choose "wifi interface" that shows a separate little interface box.

Pairing works then.

And that's when things again stop working because the units just randomly disconnect from wireless on their own. There is no actual reason for them to be doing that. By the time you re-add one, and it sure does take time, another one drops out :)

I currently have two up (one has been going strong for 28 minutes!), the third one connected and then disconnected while I was re-adding the second that disconnected while I was re-adding the one that disconnected before that.

The old wifi interface (not sure about the version, but it's a "classic" one) that I have on another unit at home has just been quietly doing its job for the past several years. No disconnects ever. Rock solid.

This is stupid.

-------------

New update: the disconnects are a god damn Melcloud bug!!!!! I can prove that easily. What the actual hell! Now how do I get them to fix this?!
