It feels like the one album they dont really pull deep cuts from. Like Everybody Knows, Tangled Up in Plaid, Wolf, The Blood is Love, Killer Scene and more never get played (outside of the Catacombs era). I feel like every album otherwise gets deep cuts pulled out here and there but never this one and its a shame cause this album is amazing.

Its totally coming out August 25th cause Josh said "No" when Deano asked if it was still September AND they crossed out the 9/30 date.

Also the vibe of the album seems very Vulgaris-esque to me? Like very comical but in a dark way and the ads remind me a LOT of the Bulby ads from way back when. I'm starting to get the vibe that Easy Street may be the Make It Wit Chu of this album

I genuinely cant stop thinking about this song. Im always more of a metal guy and I never thought Id like something like this, but its so catchy and it has the classic Josh Homme wittiness and great lines ,"shut up and fuck me". Its so cheery and the outro guitar work is beautiful. Yeah, the heavier stuff is best and I love me some heavy QOTSA riffs, but this song is great and fantastic vocal work from Josh.

Even if the whole album sounds like this, I think it'll be great. Different doesnt equal bad.

To preface, I love every Deftones album and I enjoy all of them but this list is just ordering them based on my overall enjoyment even though at the very least, I do love each of them. It's just a matter of which I love more.

10. Koi No Yokan (2012)

I know this is a hugely controversial pick. I do very much like this album a lot but I feel like I need to be in the mood for it. It isn't an album I could listen to all the time and I feel like because it isn't usually as heavy as some of their other work, I don't always feel up for it. That being said, it is still fantastic.

9. Diamond Eyes (2010)

Similarly to Koi, I need to be in the mood for this one. Generally, the songs can be a bit depressing just given the nature of this album's release and what had gone on in the band. It is absolutely a masterpiece in its own right, but I am not always in the mood for this one.

8. Private Music (2025)

I LOVE Private Music and I think that overall it is a pretty universal album that combines all of their best ideas of slower and heavier material. Some tracks can feel a biiiit samey but I would say overall this album pulls its weight very well in their discography.

Favorite track: Infinite Source

7. Gore (2016)

I honestly love Gore. I think it is criminally underrated and it has some brutally heavy tunes on it as well as some more unique, almost spacey stuff like Xenon. I think this album is so overlooked and genuinely has top tier Deftones tracks.

6. Saturday Night Wrist (2006)

SNW has a phenomenal mood to it and I love the brooding darkness of it. Also, I think this album has Chino's best vocals and I LOVE his voice on Hole in the Earth. I think it is also one of their more experimental records too and I feel like much of it feels very isolated and unique to their discography.

5. Ohms (2020)

Ohms is such a heavy album with absolute ragers on it that combine the heaviness of something like Self Titled with the almost dreamlike atmosphere of something like Koi in my opinion. I think this album is just always a good listen and I don't think it really ever wears itself out.

4. Adrenaline (1995)

Absolute rager of an album and I feel like nowadays it is very overlooked. This is a quintessential nu metal release and I think it is just banger after banger with nasty riffs. This album is my go to when I need a pick me up like it just fires on all cylinders.

Favorite track: Minus Blindfold

3. White Pony (2000)

White Pony is a masterpiece in telling a story and bringing you into the world being describes across each track. It is such a well written album that feels so relatable and engaging at every second. So many moments on this album feel like the band just pushing themselves to a breaking point and it feels so epic and bombastic.

Favorite track: Passenger

2. Around the Fur (1997)

AtF is another essential nu metal record and I think like for many others, this album was your gateway into Deftones. The riffs are just absolute killer across this whole record and like Adrenaline, I could never NOT be in the mood for it.

Favorite track: Headup

1. Deftones (2003)

The self titled album is easily my favorite. I feel like the title is so appropriate because it feels like the most Deftones sounding Deftones album ever. This album is dark, its brutal, its got beautiful but chaotic vocals, and it has great track diversity too.

Favorite track: Minerva

The riff feels like something off of a Soundgarden album (Superunknown or DOtUS?) and I love hearing this song on repeat. It sort of reminds me a bit of Pretty Noose riff-wise too. Its definitely my favorite track off of Gore and I love the dreamlike spaceyness of it too.

The Evil Has Landed: "Matters not what the people say"

What the Peephole Say: "I don't care what the people say."

But occasionally, he is curious

Elephants: "Do you know what the people say?"

I dont know how the rights or whatever works but seeing Nick at Joshua Tree made me think about how awesome this would've been as an extra cover track for the show. This song's atmosphere would've been perfect and I would've lost it if they played this.
