A Couple of Chonks

I have cleanup and inking to do, but they are looking pretty good.

Blue one has 4 x 16mm balls encasing equipment components. I like that these are spaced out so that the light can come through them.

The silver one is just a couple of crinkled Mylar strips that I cut thinner. These are from bubble mailers of some sort. Excited to see how this one looks inked.

Strawberry lemonade dice set

I got my hands on a fresh batch of resin and my bubble issues were greatly reduced. No pressure pot with these.

I have a feeling that I made a poor choice on the inking color as the font is very slim in some points as well as the shiny flakes being included. This makes reading the numbers difficult at times? Should I try re-inking to black?

Colored with a bit of red mica powder with a pinch of silver. Multi-colored shiny bits kind of look like bits of lemon pulp, hence the name. I worked in some plastic polish with a rotary tool and then buffed with microfiber. The finish was greatly improved.

For my second full set pull, I am pretty happy with the results. Not perfect, but perfectly fine. I will play more with inclusions and uncolored resin next week.

My first set of dice using retired research device

I am new to this, and wanted to share my early efforts with you all as it is a bit different.
Disclosures:

  1. Balance on these won’t be great and they will be for display.
  2. Lots of bubbles. My only pressure device is too small for a full set of dice as it was previously used to pressure test watches for water resistance (water filter enclosure which I am now reading is not a good fit for compressed air).

These dice include parts salvaged from a retired piece of neuroscience equipment. Each die holds a different part. The d8 and d20 inclusions were first cast in 16mm ball molds.

Dice mold is from AliExpress. I don’t love the font on these, but the other mold I purchased has a defect on the d4.

I have been inspired by all of your work and have learned much from lurking here. Thank you all for sharing your work at every level from first pulls to the pros.
