Do you use a separate face towel?

Or the bath towel? How often do you change it out. Saw disposable face towels and wondered how everyone else does it. Seems wasteful to use these disposables but it does sound nice to have a clean one each time. Using separate face towels sound good too but then twice a day adds up to a lot of laundry.

Hypochlorous Acid

I'm late to the game and found some threads on this ingredient which are mostly a year or 2 old. Just wondering if anyone with super sensitive reactive skin has used this effectively?

Anyone heard of Ceradan?

I read a post about this brand and I'd never heard of it before but I'm interested in their 3:1:1 ratio cleanser as well as the minimal list of ingredients.

Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Sodium Trideceth Sulphate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Sodium Chloride, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Cocamide MEA, Hydroxypropyl Guar, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Allantoin, Hydroxypropyl Bispalmitamide MEA (Ceramide), Cholesterol, Linoleic Acid.

Hoping anyone with any experience with the brands chimes in. Or even if you just have thoughts on the ingredient list, I'd appreciate it.

Exfoliation yay or nay?

For those who can't tolerate exfoliants what do you do? Quite a lot of routines have some form of exfoliation step which made me wonder if we're already using a product that helps improve cell turnover, is exfoliation still necessary?

I personally struggle with AHA, BHA, LHA. Even gentle PHA causes a mild irritation reaction that lasts a day or 2.

So I was wondering for anyone who also doesn't tolerate exfoliants, do you just skip it entirely?

Breakouts could be from dehydration

Just sharing my recent experience if it helps anyone.

Breakouts are usually (not always) thought to be from oiliness. I have dehydrated combo skin and I had the worst breakouts happen on my forehead whilst travelling.

I may get a clog or 2 every month or so but nothing as severe. At first I thought it must be the fatigue and change in weather but I was mostly travelling to hot and humid weather destination but it wasn't as different as home because I left during summer.

The thing I didn't factor in was how much AC I was experiencing. It was severely drying me out. My forehead started clogging and some would get inflamed, it was very stressful.

I kept eliminating products, trying to use less base makeup, reducing my toners, questioning my AM Moisturizer etc and it kept making it worse. I swapped a couple of Sunscreens as well thinking that could be the problem. I could see micro clogs appearing each day. I picked up some spot patches and spot treatment. Patches don't really work on closed comedones and the treatments seemed to help but was irritating my skin making it red and itchy.

After a week or so, I decided to try skin flooding. I'd never done it before but I was at my wit's end because nothing thus far has been helping.

Turns out I just needed to address the dehydration. Overnight I saw improvement in calmness and inflammation. And over a week, no new breakouts formed and the rest were slowly healing on their own.

I had packed my own toner but to preserve my stash, I picked up Mixsoon Bifida Essence & Anua Birch 70 Moisture Serum. Those 2 worked for me. Of course it may not work for everyone but I'm sharing this for anyone who's breaking out, sometimes it could be from dehydration.

You don't need to necessarily do skin flooding if your skin doesn't like it but keep a lookout if the congestion could be due to dehydration and address it from that angle.
