This is a jack o lantern, and the vine is turning yellow. What is happening to my vine?

Hello! My tortoise chomped off the tip of my pumpkins main vine. The pumpkin plant is early in its growing stages has yet to produce any fruit. There are flower buds but nothing has bloomed.
Will my pumpkin plant stop growing entirely and not produce any fruit?
