Please help me build a shade-tolerant arrangement for my front porch
Hello! I hope this is the right place to post… I’d like to build two arrangements for pots flanking my front door, on my covered front porch. The porch faces south and the planters are pretty much entirely in shade all day. Is this a pipe dream, or are there plants/flowers that would be happy enough in that situation? I am NOT a gardener (yet—trying to learn!) but a Google search tells me begonias might be an option…? Ideally I’d like to use native flora, or at least non-invasive. And I’d like to have a few different plants in the pot, rather than one single plant, if possible! So I guess I’m also looking for plants that won’t choke each other out or just generally not get along in the same soil. I was planning to do annuals but if perennials make more sense for whatever reason, I can do those, too. I appreciate any insight that you experts can offer!
