A couple of days ago it was reported that West Midlands Ambulance Service will not be participating in Birmingham Pride this year.
In response, Richard Parker has issued this statement via Facebook and elsewhere.
I know a lot of people on here don't have much time for the man, but it's encouraging to see him actually stand up for something.
A parade to celebrate Aston Villa's Europa League final win will be held in Birmingham on Thursday, the city council said.
The parade will begin on Branston Street in the Jewellery Quarter at 16.30 BST on Thursday, travelling through Sand Pits, Broad Street and Centenary Square.
The below roads will be shut from 10:00 until 22:00 BST, with parking bays on the roads suspended too
Maybe avoid the city centre today folks.
Slightly different route this year - starting in Victoria Square rather than Centenary Square, and heading down Pinfold St and Stephenson St rather than straight down New Steet.
