Cell Builder Follow Up
Out of 24 grafted cells 22 of them took. They look decent, and there is surplus royal jelly in the cup. Overall, for my second round of grafts, I'm happy with 87%.
Unfortunately, now I have too many cells, lol.

Two queens one was a drone layer and the other is giving me sheets of brood. Pic 2 you can see the difference in size between the two girls. You may have to zoom in but the one on the left is a drone layer.
I'm not trying to hide them but this is my first round of grafts this year.
A few random photos of bee work today. I marked a number of my first round queens and started my cell builder.
I do cell builders a bit different than others, but I removed the queen from the builder, she's freshly mated one brood cycle Pic 3-5. The parent hive then gets 8-9 frames of capped ready to emerge brood and around 5-8 seams of bees. I wait about 4-5 days, tear down any queen cells they started and add the grafted frames. By then, most of the brood has emerged, and the builder is full of bees ready and primed to draw quality queen cells. I run starter finishers and can usually get two grafting cycles back to back out of one colony.
This definitely isn't the most efficient way to rear queens, but it's easy for my schedule.
