NBEO PART 3 scoring sucks
Honestly I am dropping this here because I feel so defeated by the NBEO part 3 exam. I am actually not sure if students are being awarded marks correctly at this point .
For context, 2nd time test taker for the part 3 exam. I walked out of the exam hall feeling confident. Oh yeah, I did better in my skill section than the first time. I practiced my skills at home and in the clinic. I had an Optometrist confirm my views. All my friends got dilated multiple times because of me. I bought new instruments. I followed the rubrics. I practiced multiple times in the mirror, made a script, memorized the script. Even while driving, I was playing the ODontheGo video. I was literally saying everything out loud. I went into the exam room, completed my skills, verified from the examiners that they have a view and felt fulfilled that I did well.
Receiving my scores today and it absolutely did not reflect my hard work. No improvement from the last test although in the last test I barely finished any of the stations.
In the last test, I didn’t even finish gonio or 90D and I got less than 20% below passing standard and it was justified. This time I finished all my skills with clear views and yet same result.
I’m so confused and discouraged at same time. It keeps me wondering if someone is actually watching the videos to grade students.
I am frustrated 😩!
