Pearl chroma lighting

Pearl Heartsong Chroma Bug??
Just played with the pearl chroma for the first time, and not only was the whole skin rapidly flashing while Homeguard was active, but even with my brightness turned somewhat down it was really really bright and hurt my eyes :(
I am visually impaired so I need my visual settings to be very specific so I can see without strain. Unfortunately I couldn't take any screenshots while in-game, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue? Is it a bug? Will I just not be able to use the chroma?
