lately, i’ve been using poetry as an outlet again and i thought i would share a little poem i wrote about michael :>

December is my favorite month
Blue is my favorite color
Spring is my favorite season

It was just a month until the day you were born
It was just a color until I looked into your eyes for the first time
It was just a season until I had the privilege of meeting you

Because i’ve never had to stop and take anything in
The way I have to stop and take in the sight of you
Because the soft moonlight envies
The way you light up every path you walk through

My world stopped spinning the moment you entered it

next semester i’ll probably take a poetry class, i’ve really been enjoying exploring new ways to express myself and i would love to gift him a poem when im proud enough of one lol

my s/o, michael, is from Germany. language learning is originally one of my hobbies anyways so naturally i started studying German to communicate with him in his native language! the two languages i’ve learned before (japanese and korean) and my native language (english) are so different so it’s been an awkward process, but it’s been 2 weeks now and i know the basics like how to introduce myself, ask where someone’s from, describe some things in simple terms… it’s killing me because im keeping this a secret from him until i can actually hold a conversation!! i can’t wait to see how happy he’ll be when i surprise him:>
