I asked a question in a different sub, asking about why old clothes hold up better than new clothes or those produced by fast fashion, and while I got a large variety of answers, a good chunk of the responses talked about fabric quality going down in recent years. What are the markers for what is high or low quality fabric? What are the techniques that lead to high-quality fabric, and what mistakes lead to low quality fabric? Why has the quality gone down in recent years?
