Reality Fracture: Shattered Mirror Facet Foil (PROTOTYPE)

Saw the new Shattered Mirror Facet Foil treatment from Reality Fracture and had to try replicating it.

Process:
Card art printed straight onto a rainbow holo sticker sheet, stuck to a printed back, then laminated with a glossy pouch. Clear coat goes on next, same as usual. Difference this time, I masked over just the shard shapes before that clear coat pass. After it dries, cards get cut and rounded, masking gets weeded out, then sandwiched with sticker backing and run through the hot laminator. Shards keep the full gloss, everything else diffuses down to that softer card sheen.

Caveat:
Only had a standard rainbow holo sheet, so the shimmer's not a perfect match. Real card looks like it'll have a different holo pattern. Treating this as proof of concept for now.

Might turn it into a full video later but wanted you guys to see it first. Feedback and suggestions welcome.

PS:
Base card full process video is in the works, no ETA yet, just didn't want to sit on this one 😊

Chocobo Track Foil DIY Proxy 🔥Full Tutorial Is Up🔥

Thanks for waiting everyone! It's finally out. Full walkthrough on how I'm replicating the Chocobo Track Foil treatment. Tools, materials and cut files are all in the video description.

If you try it, I'd love to see what you make with it. And if you find ways to push the method further or adapt it for other cards, please share it here. This community's always been good at building on stuff, and I'd rather see this go further than just what I came up with.

Any questions about the process are welcome too. Happy to help troubleshoot if you run into snags.

As requested: The full tutorial for that near MTG, fresh-out-of-the-booster card finish!

I'm unsure whether specifying specific material brands would be helpful due to regional availability, so I'll list the specs and tools instead:

  • Front-Only Foils: Rainbow holographic PET sheet over 160gsm double-sided glossy photo paper + 50-micron glossy laminating pouches
  • Coating: Clear #190 acrylic spray

Software & Tools Used

  • Images & Layout: Proxxied
  • Print Setup: Silhouette Studio
  • Cutting: Deli Guillotine cutter (or Silhouette Cameo 4), Kadomaru PRO

Dual foils with unique finish: Contrast preserved, diffused glare and no mirror reflections (Looks and feels great on non foils too!)

I think I finally cracked the code on dual foil proxies, and I haven't seen this specific finishing method used anywhere else yet. I personally think they turned out amazing, but I want to know what you guys think. If there's enough interest, I'm down to make a video breakdown sharing the whole process. Let me know!
