What kind of equipment can measure to an accuracy of +/-0 .0003mm? Our CMM has an accuracy of 4 microns

When you have externally calibrated spare tools (eg. kept in a cabinet), does your calibration date start from the actual date of the calibration (what is stated on the Cert) or the date from when the tools are issued out?
