Howdy y'all,

I recently got accepted to a masters in UCC. I am quite excited to get on that, but, the housing shortage was not exaggerated. I could uncomfortably afford a place in Cork (and I have found several options that look possible for under €800). But, I was curious if there was any good villages for commuting? Spots I might find a cheaper rent with decent public transit options to UCC. Preferably a village that has some kind of character, not just suburban sprawl. As I don't have a car, so a store and a decent pub or two would be awesome.
