I bought the vehicle used recently. A warning came up related to low battery coolant/refill coolant, so I took it to my local Kia dealership for diagnosis under warranty. After about 1–1.5 hours, they called and said there was a puncture in the radiator/cooling system and that it was “not a warranty issue” because they believed it was caused by road damage.
I asked for photos of the damage because I wanted proof it was actually impact-related and not a manufacturer defect. I was then told obtaining pictures would require additional diagnostic charges / more labor because they’d need to pull things apart again, although they claimed they had already pressurized the system and identified the puncture.

Now, after leaving the dealership, my A/C also appears to not be working at all, which I did not notice as an issue before service.
I’m currently on hold with Kia corporate to open a case. My questions:
Is it normal for a dealership to diagnose impact damage without documenting photos?

Should I get a second opinion from another Kia dealer before authorizing repairs?

Can Kia corporate push for additional investigation or warranty review?

If the A/C stopped working immediately after service, should I suspect something was left disconnected or could this relate to the cooling system issue?

Since I purchased the vehicle recently from a used dealer, do I have any additional recourse?
