Vintage timex Q

Hi everyone, I’m new here! I recently bought a vintage Timex Q online, but when it arrived, it wasn't working.
Looking inside, I noticed some light green corrosion on one of the pins, so I carefully cleaned it off using a wooden toothpick.
I then bought some new SR44 batteries, but I quickly realized they were too thick. I’ve now ordered LR43 batteries, but I haven't had the chance to test them yet.
I should mention that when I insert either the old battery or the new (larger) one, the movement occasionally makes a few small clicks/pulses, but nothing more than that.
Does anyone happen to know what might be wrong or what I should check next? I’ve attached some photos. Thanks a lot in advance for any help, and sorry for any amateur mistakes—I’m completely new to all of this!
