Fellow travelers! My husband and I are going to northern Vietnam in Late November and would super appreciate any suggestions on our itinerary.
I have put together a rough outline based on research from this amazing sub, different online suggestions. I have taken suggestion of some of the most popular tours / lists - however, my husband and I are passionate about finding hidden gems, taking the lesser known tours, eating at mom and pop hole-in-the-walls with plastic chairs, great people and food. Please give us any suggestions for location or tour changes - thank you ahead of time!
Day 1 Arrive in Hanoi early - Old Quarter, spa, street food, walk about exploring
Day 2 Hanoi - French Quarter, Temple of Literature, Silk exploring
Day 3 Hanoi to Ha Giang
Day 4-6 Ha Giang Loop with Road Kings (we are 33 and 44, wondering if there are any other tour groups recommended?)
Day 7 Ha Giang - Ninh Binh
Day 8 - Ninh Binh / Trang An - river tour? any suggestions here welcome for day tours, local cultural things to see
Day 9 - Ninh Binh / Trang An
Day 10 - Ninh Binh - Hanoi
Day 11 - Ha Long Bay Day Cruise - I picked the first one on GetYourGuide that goes through Cat Ba Island too
Day 12 - Ha Long Bay Cruise and back to Hanoi
Day 13 - Fly home!
