I just got a CPAP for the first time about 3-4 weeks ago, and I've been using it consistently since then. Tonight, it wouldn't turn on. I switched the outlet it was plugged into, unplugged and replugged the cord into the actual machine, pretty much anything I could think of. It doesn't have a switch or anything else to make it "turn on," so there's no chance of a power switch being flipped off or something like that.

We had some pretty bad storms earlier today, and I was told that the power flickered a few times during the day [I didn't see it because I was at work], but that it never fully went out. The only think I can think of is maybe there was a power surge of some kind that caused the flickering lights and the power surge messed it up?

Do I reach out to the place I got my machine from? Or would I go to my insurance company first...? I'm worried this will affect my compliance rules to get the machine covered by insurance as it's still technically a rental for the first 13(? i think) months I believe. Will I get in trouble for this / will it be considered user error? If so, will I have to pay for a new one out of pocket? I really cannot afford that right now. I appreciate any advice anyone can give me. Thank you all in advance.
