First year with a cabin. Help me winterize!

Location West Virginia

Rain water collection in 50 gallon barrel

Has a hot water heater

Has a pump to bring water inside

Has electricity

Insulation in attic only

Wood stove for heat only.

Its my first year with my cabin in the mountains of WV. This is all new to me. I am hoping you can help.

I'm planning to try to winterize myself as there's no other option. Any tips on best practices would be appreciated.

Do I put Antifreeze in all drains (sink, shower, toilet?)

Drain the water heater?

Do I do anything with the pump?

I have never seen mice inside but have them outside. Its pretty well sealed. How can I keep the mice out?

I have a Gator. Should I take out the battery? Anything else?

If I wanted to go up in the winter, (keeping water off) would it be an issue?

Apparently I'm in a cult now...

So I went to Ionia Freak Fair, which was also my first Billy show, and according to someone who I shared this with, I’m in a cult now.

Best fucking cult ever. 😂

And to all of you who are also in this cult: I think you’re awesome. The people, the energy, the kindness...

Praise be to BMFS. See you at the next gathering. 🐐😂

Possible Calamites fossil? Found weathered out of sandstone in West Virginia

Found this weathered out near a sandstone outcrop in the mountains of Upshur County, WV. I'm thinking it might be a Calamites stem/pith cast because of the ribbing and node.

Starting a hive - protecting it from bears

Location WV mountains

Hi all. I plan to start a couple of hives on my homestead in spring. There are black bears on the land. How can I keep the bears from destroying the hive?

Any additional tips are more than welcome as I am new to this.
