Unfair Reference
I’m after some advice regarding a situation I’m going though. Two months ago I started a new role within the NHS, unfortunately a week into this I experienced an episode of poor mental health which lasted 7 weeks. During this time, and when I felt better I found another role that would have suited me better and relieved some of the workplace stressors that I was feeling.
I got the job and have since returned to work (in the original department) and was just waiting for all the necessary checks to go through. I found out today that they may be withdrawing my job offer based on a poor reference received from my current manager. Although I’m getting on well since coming back 3 weeks ago, it seems they have just focused on m my sickness record. Is this mental health discrimination? And where would I stand with this?
