Someone uploaded ai generated pictures of my gf on WhatsApp stories...on a SIM previously belonging to her,which was deactivated.
My gf had a SIM card (jio) which she last recharged almost a year ago, so it is thought to have been automatically deactivated by the service provider due to lack of recharge. This sim currently shows "no network" if put in a phone.
Last night around 11pm, somebody with access to the phone number rn, (and hence the WhatsApp for that number) uploaded some ai generated pictures of her on WhatsApp story.
The pictures were not explicit but definitely suggestive. They are disturbing to say the least.
An old friend of my gf saw those stories as she had that number saved and called that number. According to the male who picked up, it is his new number. He did not provide any reason for uploading those stories, or how did he know that it previously belonged to my gf.
Also how did he get a picture of my gf to create an ai image?!!
She has no gmail, insta, fb etc. linked to that number.
How can a person get access to that number? And if it was reassigned to them, how did he know the previous owner or get access to the previous owners photos?
What steps can my gf legally take now? She is in distress because someone created ai generated pictures of her likeness, and not only that, UPLOADED THOSE TO HIS WHATSAPP STORY? As mentioned before, those pictures are pretty suggestive and vulgar, which understandably upset her.
