What the heck ...

Hey fellas 🫡

Today I wanna show you something, that's not from Denmark, but from the River Elbe, in my hometown of Hamburg.

I found it at the Falkensteiner Ufer between some of the other stuff (quartz, flint, granite and other).

The weight (in grams) and the measurements (cm) can be found in the pictures.

I didn't do the scratch test (for hopefully obvious reasons).

Maybe someone can help me?

Thanks as always :)

What do I have here - First of many

Hey together 👋

My brother and I went to Denmark almost two months ago.

In the evenings we went to the beaches in and around Bjerregård, where we wanted to look for amber while having a relaxing time.

Long story short ...

We did not find any amber, but I found a new hobby (collecting stones).

With a few kg of new "friends" I went home and started researching.

I got me a book about "beach stones" I joined groups and Reddits, but aside from a few flints (with cute little "worm" like fossils) and some pieces of quartz (partially with some dark inclusions) I could not manage to name them.

So I decided to join Reddit and start digging a bit deeper.

So here is my first candidate for identification.

First I wanted to post some pics from the whole collection, so y'all could pick the most favourite to identify, but that would be against the rules, so I decided to follow the rules and post one stone every now and then.

Should there be the need of more details/pictures, please let me know.

Thanks a lot for your help in advance and have a good one fellas.

Meine ersten Funde

Moin beisammen 🫡

Fundort aller Steine: Bjerregård in Dänemark.
