Stewie the long-haired Syrian hamster and his Acorn Story.

We got him a year ago from Northwest Seed & Pet.

We're told that we're his 2nd home, because the first home he went to before decided to put him back because Stewie was so aggressive and bit his 1st owner.

It's not my husband's first time taking care of a hamster so he & stewie get along so well.

Stewie got used to his dad's cuddles he became sweet and easy to handle.

Anyways, last year he came home with 1 acorn and gave it to Stewie, then the next day we saw him super weak. He doesn't squeak, doesn't eat, drink or make any movement. We thought he was just not in the mood.

So few days go by and we still don't hear anything from him, until we saw him looking Ill and he tried to move but he is dragging his whole body to the drinking station and tried to lift his face and he couldn't.

Fast forward, what we last remember he ate was the ACORN and from searching it's a yes/no for hamster.

We tried to give him anything to make him better but as days go by, NONE of them works.

Until, I suggested to him the way we treat our pets in the Philippines before.

I told him, " Get a small bowl and crack a whole egg. Use a syringe remove the needle and feed him the right amount of this and let's see if he will survive. So 24/7 rotation, I feed him then my husband just continuously gives him the right amount of egg.

And, YES!! He positively SURVIVED that toxic nut.

We didn't stop giving him the raw egg but we slowly reduced the feeding so that he could finally able to lift his whole head and he no longer drags his whole body.

He is slowly going to his drinking station and can eat in his own.

This all happened in September of 2025.

He is now doing great with a bit of attitude. 😅

He is like our second son to us. It might sound weird but for us, though they're animals they have life.

He makes us happy.

I'll be starting my AAS-Paralegal First Quarter

this Fall 2026.

I would like some suggestions about what Paralegal student supplies I'll need for the reason that I am a bit unsure. It's been 13 years since I stopped schooling.

For a backpack, I would like your input about what's the best and most sturdy backpack with many pockets and suitable for a 15.6 HP laptop.

I'm eyeing a SWISS GEAR The Stride ScanSmart Laptop Backpack, however though it's a Swiss-owned brand, it's "Made in China" which for me, when it comes to the quality, it'll be unreliable.

A kind of tactical bag would be nice as long as the features I need are there and with straps that support heavy items inside like books.

When it comes to paper pads as a student, what legal pads are needed, a standard wide-ruled or the college-ruled? Or mostly Students nowadays use their laptops instead of writing by hand?

I'm also looking for pen suggestions if you won't mind sharing your secret to your neat signature.

The last one would be, if you're studying a Paralegal course at SCC (Spokane Community College) this is WA, State.

Would you please, share what books I need for the First Quarter?

P.S These may look ridiculous for me to ask such questions that for others aren't important, however as a person who likes being prepared in advance. A bit of understanding will be much appreciated.
