Inlet conditions known, outlet unknown, how much extra domain to add?

I keep modifiying this because I did not understand my own BCs - now I believe my description is correct.

Hello,

I have a model where the temp and flowrate going in are known, but the temp at the exit is unknown. My model is basically a box with an inlet fan on one side (left in image) and then an exit to the chamber. There is some heating and stuff happening in the middle of the chamber.

My BCs are:

- T_in defined (35 C, temperature of the room)
- Flowrate in defined (known, measured)
- Pressure out defined (1 ATM)
- NO DEFINITION OF T-OUT

Is this a legitimate strategy? If so, how large should my exit chamber be? The exit chamber has refined mesh where it meets the area of interest, but otherwise it is coarse mesh and adds little to the complexity or calculation time.

Thanks for any tips.

这棵树有四百岁了

What is the point of "了" in the sentence

” 这棵树有四百岁了 “ ?

For instance, I wouldn't say

“ 我有 30 岁了 ”

Would I?

Hidden Rows in Drawing Table

Hello,

When opening a drawing with a long rev table, some people delete rows and some people hide rows to make space. Are there any clues to know which - without selecting the table and clicking the "hide/show" button?

Do you use this feature? If so do you like / dislike it? I'm trying to get my colleagues to adopt it but since it's not such an obvious feature I want to find a way to make it more visible. For example - it would be nice it the top row said "additional rows hidden" or something like that when you hide rows to make it obvious that they can add to the list of hidden rows instead of just deleting parts of the table.

Appreciate any feedback and hearing about any experience you have with this!

Hello,

I am modeling a heatsink being cooled by a fan, and testing the effect of several different geometries on the cooling ability of the heat sink. This will affect things like how the air enters the heatsink, what percentage of the fan airflow is routed through the fins, etc.

As I make these changes I want to calculate how much cooling the heatsink is doing (using solidworks flow simulation). I am thinking of ways to measure how much heat is being dissipated by the heatsink, but I do not see a direct measurement like this in the software. I'm thinking of using the following metrics:

- T_max - T_min of heatsink (higher Delta-T should indicate more heat being dissipated)
- Heat conducted through a slice of the heatsink (or compare several slices)
- Heat convection through a slice of the heatsink (or compare several slices)
- Select all outer faces of heatsink and measure convection

Any thoughts on this are appreciated! Thanks
